Once again the events team and befriending volunteers made our latest fish & chips lunch successful. There is another planned for November 6th.
Our fish ‘n’ chips event in November was attended by 32 beneficiaries and volunteers which made it a great day for all.
The entertainment involved dancing and a sing-along with live music provided by Phil Ford. Also a video showing old Liverpool was shown on a big screen and a raffle was held so many thanks to all those that contributed.
21st August 2019.
WCL Beneficiaries and volunteers enjoying a great day out at Ryecroft Hall were we had a ‘Quirky Afternoon Tea party’, bingo and dancing.
This was our first trip out as a group and we hope to do more.
In the meantime, click on the links below to watch 2 short videos.
Shush…. we had a sneak preview. This garden was entered into the National Garden Scheme (NGS) in July and WCL were lucky enough to be shown this fabulous garden by Helen & Paul Ekoku a week before the Open day.
Thanks to Helen & Paul for inviting us, it was a real treat. As you can see from the photos everyone had a great time exploring the garden and then sat down for a good old natter, enjoying sandwiches and cakes supplied by Partnership for Learning charity.
On the day of the National Garden Scheme event Helen & Paul sold cakes that had been donated and this raised funds for several different charities, £50 of which is being given to WCL. Thank you and well done you two…
Angela is pictured surrounded by her packed parcels superbly wrapped
As you can see Angela was pleased to show her hard work before WCL volunteers arrived to deliver the parcels, just so long as you couldn’t see her slippers!!
On Thursday 6th November we held a launch event at St James’s Church hall. We celebrated the beginning of Woolton Community Event and launched the directory and this website by inviting local organisations and charities to join with our community.
The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Erica Kemp, officially launched the website and spoke to the audience.
Many thanks to all who came to the launch, we were incredibly encouraged by the immense support from the community.
